Tin House Canada is committed to meeting the needs of local seniors in crisis.
According to CARP (Canadian Association of Retired Persons) approximately 600 000 Canadian seniors live in poverty. More than 1 in 4 (25%) of single seniors, the majority of which are women, live in poverty. That means, in real terms, that these dear souls often make daily choices of whether to eat or buy medication, or heat their dwellings.
This is a terrible crises and it's happening right here at home. Tin House Canada is networking with local seniors, senior organizations, and concerned groups, to alleviate this injustice and bring real hope, help, and healing to these precious people.
